Climate of Transformation

The researchers Dr. Nicolas Lippolis and Dr. Renata Albuquerque Ribeiro participated in the Climate of Transformation event in Brasília, Federal District, in August 2025. Organized by the Economic and Climate Prosperity area of ​​the Open Society Foundations in Brazil, led by Laura Carvalho and Iago Hairon, the two-day meeting brought together civil society organizations for presentations and the exchange of experiences.

The team from the Center for Energy, Finance and Development (CEFD) had the opportunity to present the project “Pathways of Transition: Oil, Finance and Climate,” which seeks to bring together diverse actors to develop solutions to harness oil resources to leverage the energy transition, reconciling energy security, climate justice, and economic development.

At the Itamaraty Palace, headquarters of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Maria Laura da Rocha, Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, and Ministers Marina Silva and Esther Dweck presented their work on Brazilian economic transformation.

Among the public managers and experts who participated in the panels were Uallace Moreira, from the MDIC; Elisa Leonel, from the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services; Daniel Bento Teixeira, from CEERT Racial and Gender Equity; Ticiana Alvares, from Ineep; Rosana Santos, from the E+ Energy Transition Institute; Alice de Moraes Amorim Vogas, from COP30 Brazil; Victoria Santos, from the Climate and Society Institute (iCS); Adriana Erthal Abdenur, from The Global Fund for a New Economy, among other qualified professionals.
