Center for
Energy, Finance
and Development

The Center for Energy, Finance and Development (CEFD) is a think tank dedicated to promoting the energy transition as a driver of sustainable development in the Global South.

Our work focuses on the intersection of energy policy, industrial strategy, and finance, exploring innovative pathways to mobilize capital, strengthen institutions, and design public policies that align climate action with economic diversification.

Our mission is to ensure that the energy transition fosters climate justice and shared prosperity.

Our Approach

Research

We research the intersection of the energy transition, climate finance, and industrial policy to understand the political and economic challenges of building low-carbon economies. Our studies offer critical analyses that support the formulation of public policies, civil society strategies, and responsible private sector practices.

Strategic Convening

Drawing on the ideas developed in our research activities, we establish strategic partnerships with governments and civil society organizations to organize events and support agendas that promote concrete solutions for a just energy transition.

Communication

We make expert debates more accessible to the general public and contribute to disseminating key themes of the energy transition. Our communication strategy complements and amplifies the impact of research and advocacy activities.
